ninagobragh: (highlighters)

A few weeks ago, I wrote about the Mark+ Two Tone Highlighter, and now I’m back with another dual highlighter worth checking out: the Kokuyo Beetle Tip Soft Color Highlighters.

I bought a pack of three. The chisel tip is split like a little beetle horn, which lets you highlight in two different line widths depending on how you angle it. Like the Mark+, it’s a little weird at first, but super intuitive once you get used to it. There are technically six colors in three bodies: yellow and pink, blue and orange, and green and purple.

I’m currently using them as my main highlighters for my Hobonichi Cousin because they check a lot of boxes:
  • Pastel tones that show up without overwhelming the page
  • Lightweight feel
  • No bleed-through, even on thin Tomoe River paper
  • Easy to maneuver, especially in a smaller planner layout
They’re similar to the Mark+ in that they’re chisel-tipped and super easy to use. But the Beetle Tip stands out thanks to the variety of color combos and a design that really lets your highlighting pop—even if you go for the bolder, non-pastel sets.

I would absolutely recommend these! They’re inexpensive but effective, and whether you prefer soft hues or brighter shades, there’s likely a set that fits your style.
